October 2023: the road is in fairly good condition. Overview Whitney Pass Road (also called Ney Ranch Road and Arizona Road) runs between Whitney Pocket, Nevada, and Ney Ranch on the Arizona border. The road climbs some 2,000 feet in 4.3 miles to Whitney Pass before descending towards Arizona, ending at a fork in the road at 5.1 miles out. This road provides access to the Whitney Pocket camp area, hikes to Virgin Peak and Billy Goat Peak, and Grand Canyon - Parashant National Monument over in Arizona.
