Middle Oak Creek Trail -- Alternate Trailhead
Hiking Around Las Vegas, Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area
Oak Creek Cutoff Route

Approaching the alternate trailhead gate (view NW)

Overview

The Middle Oak Creek Trailhead is a regular, signed trailhead that provides parking and access to the Middle Oak Creek Trail, which then provides a pleasant walk across Red Rock Valley and up into Oak Creek Canyon.

Presented here are photos of the Middle Oak Creek Trail starting from an alternate trailhead parking area, which is located about 125 yards north of the regular trailhead parking area.

This alternate trail starts from the north edge of the alternate parking area, passes through a gate in the highway fence, and follows an old road down the hillside heading towards the desert flats. At the base of the hill-slope, this trail merges with the main Middle Oak Creek Trail.
